Soldier's Past

she holds old photos
saved of husband's other life
while in the navy
Vietnam fifteen-year tour
never looked back with regret

Eve, A poem that commemorate's one of many wars fought. Row upon row of little stones line a hillside here. Many go there to walk among the one-hundred twenty thousand on Memorial Day. I would ask a few save just one other day, and visit the silence. Perhaps return home with a better appreciation of their own life. -Richard
