Soldier

Until the trumpet's triumphant fanfare
Until clouds cluster to billowy stair
Until all men see His radiant face
Truth emanating love and grace
Rejuvenating us to upwardly soar
In a moment we change evermore

Until that day the battle bellows
The lion's thunderous roar
The serpent's subtle hiss
Deceitful hearts and lying lips
Plotting in arrogance and vanity
Trying to break the children of the Almighty

Until that day the enemy hides
Where imagination and reason reside
Trapping hearts into the spirit of timidity
Tangling thoughts into apostasy
Seducing men to pride
Reducing reality to reverie
   But try as he will
   The devil feebly fails
   The truth prevails

Angels of God surround the saints
Steadfast we stand claiming the Blood of the Lamb
The Holy Spirit revealing the mystery
That at the Name of Jesus
Kingdoms are crushed and the fearsome fall
Even demons of hell are swiftly compelled
On bended knee to confess
The Almighty Name of He Who Is
The precious Name of Jesus

So I shall cling to Jesus
Who shed His Blood for me
Here I stand in the King's army
In Him only am I delivered and I live
To Him only my life I give
