Soiled Seeds

It always seems prudent to make the most
of what Truth we find within our reach,
to shore it as sweetly to our liking,
without straying dangerously off the beach.
This is how many young children's scribbling
finds its way to refrigerator doors,
a gesture of praise, fully undeserved,
false as Grimm's fairy tales, but nourishing.
Let the lie be white. Let the lie be right.
Plant the lie in our Blessed Truth's same soil,
and both shall thrive and find their proper place
in souls which will soon enough reap their value.
