Softly She Whispers

Softly she whispers words of love
Gentle, her fingers that caress,
Warm, the lips that place a kiss,
She fills my life with tenderness.

Sweeter than fruit upon a vine,
More beautiful than an English rose,
Oh, my racing heart be still,
You race because it's you she chose.

Each passing hour seems more worthwhile,
Each precious moment treasured so.
When I look into her smiling eyes,
My love, what can it do, but grow

This was a pleasure to read,Gary. It flows so well and I love the use of adjectives at the start of each line in verse one to reinforce the strength of affection. Congratulations on your placement. Wendy
