Sociability

Wearing masks in check-out today
  Computer glitch meant delay
Thought I'd strike up a conversation
  Chase the boredom away

My first target looked at me strange
OK, his right, didn't think much of it
'Til the second fellow eyed me the same
Hmm, I thought. Gotta rise above it

The third fellow visibly shrank back
I felt that sociability was under attack
Don't think I'll frequent that store again
I'll take off my mask and make me a friend

The mask thing is getting nuts. "The third fellow visibly shrank back I felt that sociability was under attack" Ha! I can see it and I smile. People are fearful!

The best kinds remove their masks and at least give you a half hug (most have been vaccinated)

I didn't think people could become more unsociable. I had a great conversation with a taxi driver today so I think there's hope. Stay frosty my friend.

Were you wearing a wicked face mask?

Yesterday, our Governor urged everyone to "Save the children" and continue wearing a mask as children have no protection against COVID-19 nor the Delta strain . . . . .

Nope. Just a regular mask --- which is a vast improvement, truth be told, on the lower part of my face. lol. Cheers, gw

No masks, more friends, sounds like a winning combination to me.

Whatever, gw. But, as for me, I'm wearing my mask in public places until this Delta variant calms down...and, yes, I've had both shots, but better be safe than sorry. When people look at me funny in the store, I peel a banana and eat it. Now, that's weird!

Whatever?! All I ask of vaccinated individuals who continue to wear masks is to be pleasant. That's all... I've never cared much what a person looks like; only interested in what each person is like... I suspect the 'fear factor' has gone way past Covid and penetrated to the root of too many people's personalities. Pity, that.
