Sobering

A limp lamp post sags
             beneath a groggy moon
                           within the blurred arc
                                               of a yellowish neon halo.

I hiccup, I sway, I grin,
             as my empty beer cans
                           clang and clatter drunken
                                                down a sober alley below.
