Inspired by the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
When I see a lone seagull
Circling high above
I’m reminded of Jonathan
And recognize his kindred spirit
As one who would not stoop
For discarded french fries
In a stripmall parking lot
I wonder as up above he circles
How grand his aspirations
His dreams and fantasies
As he soars the openness of the skies
I often think of Jonathan
And stop to wonder if I myself
Am soaring to the heights I should
