So You Want To Be a Jarhead
So you want to be a Jarhead?
Well that's not alright with me.
I respect marines,
They protect the free.
But I don't want to lose you,
Or have you blown to bits.
Say what you want,
But your life is priceless.
Don't leave me for months,
Don't leave me at all.
Don't leave me forever.
I can't take the call,
Of the doorbell ringing,
As they stand on my porch,
Telling me you're gone,
As I melt on the floor.
So you want to be a Jarhead?
Oh well,
Too bad.
I won't grace your casket,
With a folded flag.
I won't hear the fire,
Of their guns as I cry.
I want to be with you,
When we say our goodbyes.
As our bodies descend,
And our spirits rise,
The angels will greet us,
With love in their eyes.
