So You Want Me To Be Myself

So you want me to be myself
and you want to send me to hell
but you don't know
my real self
it's just what you imagine that's for sale
who the hell do you think is myslef?
maybe that someone beyond the gates of hell
maybe it's some strange special self
maybe it's someone
who can't tell
maybe it's someone
but who the hell?
maybe it's someone
not from the earth
maybe it's someone
only hell can tell who
maybe it's you
maybe it's someone
who is yourself
but it's myself
that you don't know
and that you can't look through
it's myself you don't know
you don't have a clue
it's myself that you
have no idea about
it's myself that is a stranger to you
it's myself in my own world
it's myself you can't imagine
it's not you
it's myself
me, not your muse

Great emphasis on the "self" which adapts too easily to the confines of peer pressure and politics. I think what you are saying is - Be Yourself. I would just make sure that the self I am is real and productive and generous. A brain-storming piece worth reading needs a little work on format.
