So You Say
So You Say

So you say you are a Christian
You believe and praise the Lord
Tell of all his teachings
And with him are one accord
Spread his word to others
Tell of his sacrifice
Think the telling of the happening
Should more than just suffice
Do you turn your face from suffering?
Keep more than what you need?
Ignore the poor and hungry?
Put down the one's who don't succeed?
Are you selfish with your earnings?
Keep everything yourself?
Put all of what you've gathered,
Out of reach upon a shelf?
Doesn't seem that you're a Christian
To spread the word and not the deed
If there are extras on the shelf
There are other mouths to feed
There other people hurting
That could use a hand from you
If you believe you are a Christian
That is something you should do
Jesus walked and talked the lesson
Better to give than to receive
Do you feel a little guilty,
Want your conscience to relieve?
Then give a little of yourself
Your money and your time
You'll be the Christian you believe
Being Christian's not a crime.
