So What If You Were President

So What if You Were President
By Franklin Price

So what if you were president
The leader of the land
Where on the many issues
Do you find that you would stand

Where would you guide this country
So we could move along
Into the twenty-first century
Where we are and should belong

Would you listen to the people
Protect our security
Secure all our borders
So all our citizens are free

Would you work with those in Congress
For what we the people need
To heal this country's many wounds
So we no longer bleed

No one, not you the president
Or the Senate or the House
Can heal these wounds alone
As with a husband and a spouse

All must work together
To work all this out of course
To make this tenuous marriage
Not end up in divorce
