So Many Tears

So many tears I have cried today
So many tears I have cried
I cry for the souls I cannot see
I cry for those now that I can never meet
I cry for them. I cry for me.

I feel a great internal pain
Spreading across our land
People can feel it over the seas
What is wrong with our country
'Something' it appears to me.

My personal rains fall gently
It is so sad, so very sad to me
My tears come quietly and unbidden
My rains stream over me from within
Unstoppable they rush over me.

They fall from me
Running from things I cannot see
From evils I can only imagine
Hurts that I or others cannot heal
It is an inner empty helplessness that I feel.

Pains like these will never leave
They will never end or go away
This time cannot ever be turned back
Before the horrors of yesterday
This is a hurting that inside me will always be.

Dear Christine, This is profound..I share these feelings with you. When it gets too much all I can do is listen to some inspirational music just to take my mind away, but that backfires sometimes..still I hope that one day..there will be a different story told. We may not be alive then but the day will come as it was promised. Keep hope alive, Christine! Much love, your friend, Audrey
