So Lost
Some times I get so lost when I’m alone
The world is made of water and I’m a simple stone
When I try to run, I fall straight down
Now the weight of the world on my shoulders has a crushing sound
Over my head in a dark part of the world
Alone and drowning as my heart is so chilled
I become washed up, crushed, cold and blue
Life has become a struggle I can’t get through
Other rocks come down hard on me
Stuck in this gutter means they won’t let me be
Each one makes a chip or takes a crack
One day they will surely break my back
I wish they would stop trying to kill metal with rust
Have them all come at once and face me till I’m dust
This new form of life I would gladly be!
For dust in the water becomes sand by the sea
Forever and ever after I would be so free
The warm sunshine would be so heavenly
In this world my pain would mostly subside
But the Lord keeps me humble by bringing in the tide
