So Long and Yet So Short

Is it so long?
So long since you were real?
Is it so long.. 
so long you did feel?
Is it so long that you were young?
Is it so long that things went wrong?

It only seems a short while
I stared into those eyes.
It only seems a short while that I was surprised.
By love.

Is it only a short time
I first saw your pain?
Is it only a short time
we tried in vain
to keep sane?
Is it only a short time 
we tried to remain
ourselves?

Is it only now
I can see?
Is it only now that we
can be..
Ourselves?

It only seems a short while
