Snuffed Out

I feel fragile as a candle, Which I find hard to handle. Like a clock that no longer ticks Or glue that doesn't stick Once lit, a candle burns, Getting smaller every day The slightest puff of wind Can blow its light away We all have our weaknesses, Especially as we age Fragility and meekness Are often displayed, I am not comfortable with this, I just wanted someone to know, Like that fragile candle I have lost my glow

Heya Shirley You describe the fragility of life through the fickleness of candlelight, a wonderful metaphoric write although evoking sadness, try keep your inner spirits high, we are never really snuffed out, the energy we expel over our lifetime eventually turns to mass again, cheers David

Thank you, David For your kind comments. I am incredibly fortunate to still be here at 85, but life is fragile, especially in these uncertain times, not just for the aged. Take care, Old Duck
