Snowy Owl

 
a north snowy owl
hunts a windswept field for prey ...
               cat like yellow eyes

thick heavy feathers
the snowy owl is watchful ...
               low raspy hoot hoot

on a branch preening
the snowy owl flutters wings ...
               solitary life

rotating his head
the snowy owl is regal ...
               a quiet flyer
