Snowless Christmas

snowless Christmas,
bright green and yellow.

   crystal-clean windows whine
      for the fury of whiteout,
         the fight of caustic blizzard -
reason to cuddle at hearth,
   bundled with no place to go
      but straight to your lover’s heart,
                with the cheer, of sparkling wine,
                    winding winsomely inside
                       your carefree singing goblets.
the snap and pop of burning logs,
snow-white teeth and Christmas-red cheeks.

alas...no such passion.
just another snowless day.

I must say that it will be up to sixty degrees here today, and I am delighted to have a snowless day. Yet, my childlike self, feels exactly like you do about a snow-less day, Kim. Lovely!

We never really get snow where i live in the UK... in fact it was a very mild xmas day yesterday....

I feel the sentiment which was very well expressed! I'm not a big fan of snow, but really it just doesn't seem like Christmas without it. Our grandkids won't be over till Sunday, so that leaves it somewhat lacking as well. But I don't have to work, so that's cool. Happy or happier holiday wishes for you Kim......pat
