Snowing

It’s snowing and blowing;
Anxiety’s growing.
The sidewalks and roads may be slick.
I’m waiting, equating
My fear’s escalating
With how much these flakes seem to stick.

The trees, as they freeze
Look so pretty, they please
Every eye that takes time in observing.
Those who rush through the slush
Miss a picture so plush
It’s a pity, though they’re not deserving.

As hours devour
The day’s waning power,
I gaze out the window and worry,
But bearing despairing
At least isn’t sparing
The beauty that’s born from this flurry.

I loved this piece. It doesn't snow in Beirut, but I've lived in places where it does, and this captures the magic well. Hugs dear.

A very topical poem Ilene! Our little Island ground to a halt in places on Friday as we had snow but thankfully where we live wasn't affected but others had lots and roads were closed, schools closed, buses couldn't run and planes were grounded. thankfully it is a bit better today:-) hugs Jan xx

- It's snowing at my house too ... a wet snow - "White cold soup", not beautiful - We have just had three days of strong storm and a lot of rain ... a lot of destruction along the Norwegian coast - Lovely poem, Ilene - Happy weekend - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
