Snowflakes in Dappled Shadows

"Snowflakes fall as softly as a poet's tears."
~ an edited quote by Kevin Ansbro

In dappled shadows crystal snowflakes gathered
as sparkling alabaster gems frozen in time.
They cover the ground as a white blanket or quilt...
too soon to melt as Nature's offering of rain.
A moist painted desert sculpted by the wind,
as if Winter's gift was captured by an artist's brush.
An image of innocence; a still life on canvas,
I would aggrandize inside an ornate silver frame
or enjoy its beauty... time and again with a shake
of a snow globe scene from the Victorian era.
How fragile each flake, each individually unique
falling from clouds as if tears were being spilled.

Love how you combined your love of art with your poetry Lin. I love to see snow falling covering the landscape in a white blanket. Tom

Happy New Year, Lin, my dear friend. Those snowflakes gathering in dappled shadows like a poet's tears, frozen as sparkling alabaster gems under a white quilt, are so fragile. I think it is exquisite, heart-stilling beauty. Winter Blessings, Dear Lin, Daniel
