Snowflakes

Snowflakes
by Sue K Green

Pretty are the snowflakes
As I watch them fall
Covering up the landscape
Pretty scene for all

I like to watch the snowflakes
They put on quite a show
As they flit and scatter
Everywhere they go

So many are the snowflakes
Falling down on me
I wouldn’t now start counting
A daunting task that be

Cold are the snowflakes
As too is the air
Hat, coat, and gloves now
A must for me to wear

White now are the snowflakes
Covering the ground
Careful not to slip now
Ice too is all around.

Streetlights on the snowflakes
Make for a pleasing glow
I watch now out my window
At still falling snow.

I envy you, I've never seen snow, but I can picture it when I read your poem. p.s. just a thought, the third tranza, last line, might make it: what a daunting task that'd be.

If one could put aside all the hazards that comes along with snow, they would see only the magic and beauty seen as it floats down covering up the past and making for us a new landscape. I appreciate your comments and I will consider your suggestion.

Yes, this would be a quatrain poem. A very nice one, too. Always a different angle, a different perspective, a different sight. Magical and enchanting.

The urge is so strong to grab my camera and run out to take pictures. This week the temps are extremely low ( this morning 6 feeling like -14) so I've taken to just writing about the new fallen snow.

I like to watch the snow falling. Especially when the flakes are large and fluffy. Out for a stroll, when warmly bundled, stopping for a coffee with a friend... These special moments make the season seem awesome. :) Enjoyed
