Snowflakes

I spread my fingers, held my hand up high, As countless snowflakes floated coldly by, Just like you did, without a last goodbye And in that silence, I was left to cry. You came to me as the most precious gift, The North Star steering my ship through the night. But then you left just like the snow adrift, Abandoning me, destitute of light. I watched the snowflakes, bound to melt apart, And asked myself if there would be a day When our sweet memories treasured in my heart Would meet the same fate, doomed to fade away?

I love this. You described both snow and love in a tragic triangle of impermanence. I fav this one.
