Snow Storm

As I sit and look out the window
Everything is covered with snow
My car now looks like an igloo
And old snowmen now appear new

All the trees bend and soon begin to wilt
Every limb covered with a white powdery silt
Children are laughing upon their boisterous way
As down the hill they go on their wooden sleigh

So I go downstairs and grab our American Flyer
And get all the kids stuff back out of the dryer
All bundled up we headed back into the storm
To the logic of a parent this is not the norm

But what a day in all the joy that we had
Leaving was the only part that was kind of sad
For to this day we must now finally say goodbye
Again giving the hats and mittens a little time to dry

A nice way to look at a meteorological quirk that helps to make nearly every adult's life more complicated.
