Notes About The Poem

Snow Cat

Black white
You freeze
You blend
Bare branches
Dark, light
Snow,stones
I wait
Eyes glow
Breath puffs
Earth blends
One form
Tricks eye
Frost, ice
sticks bend
Earth moves
You turn
Freeze framed
Eyes strain
Breath puffs
rise first
You lurch
branch bows
stones, snow
Still life

I like the two syllable lines, the poem reads quickly. There is a documentary (of some years ago) that captures the elusive snow leopard.Thank you for stopping by read by turtle poem. I write many animal and insect poems in which I give these creatures a human personality. Best to you in your writing endeavors. / M

You captured the snow leopard on her stealthy prowl. I could hear the branches snap beneath her paws. Very nicely done. It is a rather majestic creature ... I don't believe there are many that exists.

Sad but true. Also true of many fine species despite efforts to protect them. Glad you enjoyed it. SuZ

I was beginning to think no one else chose the Snow Leopard SuZ. I love the way you capture her in still frame. I can see her foggy breath! GL to you too SuZ.

Thanks Connie: writing to pictures is almost as much fun as writing to words lists. It takes you in a direction you may not go, otherwise. Take care.bHugs, SuZ
