snakes and ladders

well if one won’t stoop to fight the devil ~ he will always condescend

he’s further up the ladder ~ but down a manhole so let’s not pretend

and how do I know such things ~ on any level he’s a charming friend

one who makes empty promises ~ only the mesmerised comprehend

In the sewer the snake shall remain as far as I’m concerned. Maybe cement over that manhole cover so he can’t show up again. Good Monoku chain, David. Thanks for the inspiration note. ;-)

You’re welcome Lin! Thanks for the inspiration, I just took it a few levels below, using an underground ladder, thought it may give more perspective, cheers David

Thanks so much Jan, Lins brilliant monoku, triggered off my muse to take a different approach on the subject matter at hand, I’m delighted it came together on that final line, cheers David
