When Johnny Comes Marching Home

Listening to the loud wild commotion mom runs on to the front porch shock to see. Her Johnny back from the service; stretches her arms and smothers him in her bosom. 2/6/2021

Ahh!! Enjoyed reading this one. I can't imagine what it was like for moms who waited at home for the safe return of their sons and some daughters or hearing of their death in the war. I know it was hard on my mother to have one to serve in north Africa during WWII. Thanks for your visit. Sara

Having read this, my image would be that of the picture. You truly bring it to life. Eve.

You discribed the relief of a mother welcoming her soldier son returning from the war, relief that he lived. Hope you're well Eve. Tom
