Smothering In Physical Stimuli

visually exciting & ya
been set adrift...ya been
“waiting for angels?”
ya been done in, ya been
fooled, ya been took, ya been
t-r-i-c-k-e-d---
now’s the time to
smarten up, yes,
now’s the time to do it,
cause’ nobody’s gonna do it for
ya,
cause’ nobody’s keepin’ track of
you except you &
if ya believe that one
we can tell you another
(bugs neath’ the carpet, cameras in the
skies, Zuckerberg in your pocket &
clergy tryin’ ta’ zip up your fly)
when it’s all based on rhythm,
when the kids know the truth,
might have to suck up that pride &
start listening instead of
proclaiming, start living instead of
praying, start kissing instead of
hiding, start dancing instead of
dying.
