Smoke
Brain unfolding, like a train unloading.
All of these foreign emotions that I keep holding.
I’m hoping that my fears aren’t potentially moulding,
Into a shape created by the pressure of a life, that seems to be imploding.
I fear not, as the future will still meet at a point that’s finally present.
Leaving all those past feelings to seem old, irrelevant and misspent.
Conveniently they’re timelessly tied together like a bow on a present.
I cautiously move forward, staying as still as a scared pheasant,
Hiding from all the dangerous situations that ultimately always end unpleasant.
I unintentionally find a way to overcome the results of living a life, solely built on resentment.
The darkness in our soul is strongest when hiding within an absence of our inner light.
And positivity is never accomplished without having the determination to put up a fight.
Experiencing both of these emotional life perspectives is difficult and doesn’t make it right.
Yet any possibility that the end result is pure and may always seem blindingly out of sight.
Especially knowing you might not choose wisely and sadly confuse the darkness with the light.
Why does this matter? Why should anyone care?
When the majority of people are too busy to even offer you their blank stare.
I’ll tell you why it matters. And why we must remember how important it is to share.
Because all humans share the fact that we all have inner battles, and moments of despair.
Only by leaning on each other, it might help us through our darkness, to understand what’s fair.
Light up the life you live, and challenge any of the darkness that comes with it.
As people, we should commonly share real emotions together, whenever we see fit.
Ignorance may be bliss, but what will hurt more is choosing to be ignorant about this.
Maybe try to assist a stranger in need for once, and show how society will better itself.
By using the power of acceptance and compassion for others, helps restore yourself.
