and jones
looking through
this tanka book
pages of weeping
from all over the world
smith and jones do not appear
smith and jones are so fortunate
to live their lives without life’s sorrows
or they are too blue-shirt common for words

I for sure though of the old TV series called Alias Smith and Jones/ western ;) Nice write

Is it an anthology or did that M. Kei actually do 236 pages of his own tanka? And to think it is volume four?? OMG.

Daver, I just love roller coasters but that scene in the picture was pretty creepy. About your etheree, were you writing this after seeing a tanka book? it's sure an interesting one!

Yes, the book is Take Five - volume 4, by M. Kei. Like 236 pages. I can't remember a Smith or a Jones tanka, but then you know my memory. LOve, Dave

Fortunate for "Smith and Jones" dear poet, for...I...am the soul who has disdain for the mournful writes....I exclude Elegy's which are manditory if humanity exists in a soul. And for the record...though I write few... I have a soft spot for Tanka's ! Terribly good write dear fellow ! Have a wonderful Spring my good friend.....much love, james

Very intriguing, dear Daver. There are many sad poems and sometimes people cannot relate to them. "Smith and Jones" are indeed lucky not to feel sad while reading such tankas. Love you, Carolyn
