We have been married for almost 37 years. We only knew each other for two months, had a lot of ups and downs. This part of our life has been so sweet!
golden rings behind glass
smiled up at me way too soon
the swoon, the sweeping
my feet barely touched the floor
before his knee felt impact
my guess – he had no time to lose
to win her hand
not conventional to her father’s chagrin
a hung up call
100 yard dash
left the cord dangling
had he really said
“you don’t care about the family”
just a mad hatter dad
trying to scare her straight
but alas he let her fly away
sail the seven seas
well at least in theory
two weeks passed
she regained her composure
say no
say yes
i do
she did
dad got over it
now they’re friends
