Smiling Pain

Sometimes, a smile comes in through the sorrow, and for a brief while, you forget the pain: then you get, in a flash, dawning reality that the pain is still there, a dull ache, an emotional stone deep in your chest then the brightness of your smile dims and you continue to sorrow once more howbeit, this time, with a ghostly wisp of that bright smile..
