Smiles Can Be Fake

Growing up
i always thought smiles a sign of happiness
a caring gesture:
that could brighten someone's day
white teeth...pink gums:
Presenting a welcoming appeal

...no one ever told me
that smiles can be fake:
a camouflage for hatred & disapproval
the currency for trading favors!
like a worm on a fisherman's hook
...appetising yet deadly!

Nowadays...people jus don't get to smile
they rather smile just to "GET"
it's not natural....no it's not!!!
like a scene on a movie :
choreographed to capture attention!
Quash Quash Quash!...
to mere instruments of deception!

Pray for the eyes to see :
to see through all the smiles!
The wisdom to discern :
all the fake from the echt!
ohhh i have seen it all...
& i live to testify:
YES...smiles can be fake!
