Smile To Me

I look around to see, all the smiling faces, smiling at me. And though my lips turn up to that grin, I know it's fake from within. I feel as though you should be able to see, all this way down deep through to the truth. Yet when I am ready to give, and you to take, one single pure white lullaby confronts my life. You know you wish to be happy, as every other person does. And It has never occurred to me how unsettling, my thoughts can be. So please do witness this tragedy. A settle of a pitter patter, an empty beat. Do not let this fall about you for I will always let you see a smiling face, as you smile back at me.
