Smell of a Memory
It's weird how a simple smell
Can bring you back to a point in your life
It can be a time of laughter and happiness
Or it could be a time of sorrow and strife.
The smell of Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner
Can bring back a fond childhood memory
It's amazing how memories can be brought about
a sight, a sound, a smell, something sensory
Even the things that are stinky
Can remind you of times from your past
While the smell itself may be gone
The memory will forever last.
