Small Steps

Sometimes in our healing pace,
we forget that it is not a race.
The accident it happened fast,
but change your focus from the past.
Be kind and patient with yourself,
and place your anger on a shelf.
Take each day as it comes up,
don't place yourself into a rut.
Rejoice in what you can get done,
why you can even make it fun!
If you dwell on what you can't do,
your belief in that will make it true.
So let your inner voice speak kind,
for it is you who controls your mind.
                                                         P.R. Deremer
