Small Fires In the Metropolis

The clock moves
in one direction
as we search the canyons of our metropolis
All the dawns
    we have known
         have vanished
into
   dark black nights
We believe that light will
       filter in later on
   We're hoping that it will,
praying that it will
     To continue our
search we need the light
      of sunbeams so
our tired eyes can
    find the solace we
are seeking
       here in the midst
of the asphalt homeland
