Small Cog In a Huge Machine
1914-18 War.
Just another small cog
In a huge machine
Working together
Aimed at some foreign foe
To give a bloody mortal blow
And end a wave of ternary
Spreading across Europe
Over seas
Like a pandemic deadly disease
Bringing terror and horror
Death and honour
To countless people
On all sides
All swearing they have God on their sides
Driven by warmongers and warning governments
Propaganda power and greed
Thought by the ordinary Man and Woman
On the street
Death honour glory and defeat.
The war to end all wars
Or so they said
But war still goes on
Leaving countless dead.
Wars few understand
The scourge of Imperfect Man
wafted by Satan's hand.
Let is never forget
But let us learn
Man just can't get on
And get's his fingers burned.
The Huge machine
Travels on.............
