Slowly Moving On Love

I am going very slow
Feelings I don't want to show
Keeping them inside until
Little by little they spill
Out of my heart into yours
I want to be on love shores
Where big waves don't drown and hit
Me with a disturbing fit
Leaving me frightened and so scared
My heart doesn't belong anywhere
Or to anyone as you
Left me alone and so blue
Now I'm careful when I see
Sweet eyes looking back at me
My approach is very shy
The only tears I want to cry
Are joyful ones and not sad
I just want to feel glad
Not pushed to the brink of doubt
Once again with no way out
But there's something in your eyes
I can truly recognize
You've been burned by someone too
Both our hearts know what to do
As we softly say hello
Starting to feel a glow
Inside we have never felt
Past memories begin to melt
Fading from our brains as we
Feel light and very free
Keeping hope alive and new
This love will be fun not cruel
