Slowly Fading Rose

My love for you is like a rose
If unkempt it will slowly wither
And slowly fade

But if this rose can live
It must be loved back
Time is my enemy
And you are what I lack

With your caring arms
This rose can bloom
But without them
It may fade with the day

This rose can deceive
Although lit with color
It can lose it within
Will it live through tonight
Or die because of sin
