Slow Burn

Lay your head upon my chest
and feel it rise and fall
listen to my loving words
as moonlight bathes the wall.

Tender kiss my parted lips
and taste my growing need
stay within my warm embrace
as shadows slow recede.

Lay your form upon my breast
and fix upon my gaze
see the love therein that lies
as day the night delays.

Tightly cling to what we know
and love the long night through
so into one we shall merge
you are me and i am you.

I really like the starkness of the style -- steamy-hot, not maudlin or tepid-romantic. Kicker of a last line too. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I see that you've done more in three days than some ever do! Write on!... Season's best, Rob. ~ Gershon

Thanks once again for your kind comments. I appreciate the sentiments, particularly since it is difficult to express sexuality and lust without sounding corny or over the top. I will be by again.

Thank you Leanne. I do appreciate the reads. This place is a joke. I've tried to read others, but truly they are not writing poetry. I found a good haiku dude from Maine though.
