Slip of Tongue

Slip of Tongue

There is no greater degradation
Than falling from the pedestal of love
Cherished, adored, respected and wanton
After years of devotion, toil, and tears
As wife, mother, lover, friend,
Spouse, husband, father, provider
and reduced to Ex.

very good point Jeralynn. Being "labeled" is not a reduction in this case. It is a fallacy. Only a term for convenience sake with absolutely no fore thought to be sure! Great write Lady Jeralynn! Robert. ...and in answer to your comment question on my poem ....NOT !!! :)

Ex has a big meaning that effects not just the two in the relationship but in-laws, friends, and so many more. Hope that this wasn't you. Keep the creative pen flowing. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work. Sara
