Slip: Let Me Go

You.
You are the being that haunts me.
You are the only part of my past that's chained me down.
You are nothing, and yet you are everything.

One slip, one single, tiny slip is all it'll take to evade me again,
to take me whole,
conqueror my soul.
Beautifully,
with grace,
at the proper pace, make me fall deep, deep into this tainted world of ours.

One slip, one single, tiny slip of all my pride and dignity is all you need to make me yours,
to capture me,
bind me so there's no escape.
You came once,
it'd be easy to take me again.
Years mean nothing but wasted time.
Slowly but surely you'll reach for me,
but you'll quit reaching as I reach back.
You'll untie me and let me go.
You'll let me go.
