Slip Away Friends
Where have they gone, they who, said they loved you
like their own Mother?
Jealousy dissolved that bond, like green fatal poison,
none other.
They took your heart from you, and stabbed you deep.
You must forgive each, because you only belong to God's
divine keep!
Do not, on mortal man, give all your soul.
The thief will sneak in, disguised as the sweetest
jelly roll.
We outlived them.well and so terribly strong!
Whilst they muck about, looking for parental
aporoval from an uncaring thriong.
