Slip Away

Slip away
Fall out of sleep
Dream into wakefulness
Try to avoid
That pain is real

Emotions don’t leave
But they’re never really there
It slumbers
It’s in the back of your head like cancer
Slip away

'cause all I can do is slip away
To a place where I can’t feel
I feel so much worse today
I wonder if good things are real

And nothing really matters
I’m not even here
It doesn’t really matter how it seems
I’m a smiling image
Of what I’ve never been
Slip away
