Slim Chance

The Earth’s a speck of trivial mud, Thumping with a thud Some other planet presently, Spattered in Time’s spacious, stellar sea. The oceans and the rocks will splash-- The stars together smash— And will our species splatter, too? Or, will it escape—prevail—anew?
