Sleeping Without You

I slide into bed

His body forms to mine

Sheets extend over me

His skin so soft

Resting my head on a pillow

The beating of his heart

Puts me to sleep

I awaken

Nude

Just a single strand of his hair

Left on an untouched pillow

Now my wife and I both snore so loudly that our best bet is to be far enough away to have to dial one and the area code to speak. This poem was sweet though. God Bless. Vince

You paint a sad picture with your words. Imagery with great depth of emotion. You are truly an artist. So well done. Love, Shar
