Sleeping Tide

. A new day
              A new dawn
A new wave to sail along
Not a perfect night of sleep
If only sleep could right a wrong
If only sleep could mend a hurt of yesterday
                        How perfect would it be
If sailing on the nightime sea
Could calm a shattered world and be
                     So free, of troubled years
As smooth and empty as a beach
A beach of gold, .. of silky sand
                   Untouched, unharmed by worried hand
Washed and ironed by moving tide
A breathless peace, all cleansed inside

For a mountain girl, this poem has a seagoing touch. Nice soft write. Sometimes I wonder if we didn't have the bad times, would the good times mean as much. When i look back, there were times I thought were tragic, but other things happened in the following years that probably would have never occured if it weren't for the bad times. God Bless. Vince
