Please, Sleeping Giant, wake unto these loving eyes; I hunger for your touch as you rest in peaceful slumber. Longing for such love might well certain my demise; denying heart’s desire, rather, brings incessant wonder. I gently stroke each tender brow and press my cheek to yours. The warmth of you induces sleep ~ we meet inside a dream! And, now, I know the truth... Love is everything and more; I wake and rise to my new life; your love has set me free! We meet here quite often to share our love untold. Inspired and rejuvenated, we no longer yearn for we are together, enlightened and so bold, erasing the fierce hands of time in each attempt to turn.

Couldn't help but see the "Sleeping Giant" as a hurricane, just from the picture. But it's more than that -- it's a relationship that allows the two to meet in "dreams." If you do find a way to avoid the "fierce hands of time," you might make millions by bottling and selling it. Enjoyed very much! Best wishes, Carolyn

That's funny, it actually does look pretty stormy. Lol. I love this painting, but the picture that originally inspired this was peaceful, almost dreamy. Wonder what I was thinking... Anyway, your response made me smile ~ Thank you, Carolyn :)

I lived in Thunderbay Ontario Canada, there is also a sleeping giant there. I wonder if they are related? I enjoyed your poem. Did you paint the picture?

There is also a Sleeping Giant close to me, but this painting was a better fit for this piece ~ though it was inspired by an entirely different sleeping giant altogether. LOL.
