Sleeping Dogs Lie
She’d say jump and him how high
Should have bought a lead I’d say
If only they’d let sleeping dogs lie
But an unusual breed he won’t stray
When back again he comes running
As always with his tail between his legs
Though she too can be just as cunning
Perhaps she just likes it when he begs
Both of them seem to be barking mad
As yeah they are a very unusual mix
Startling yet at times seems very sad
That you can’t teach old dog new tricks
What’s said out of spite leaves its mark
It’s how it is between this girl and guy
Ok there bite not as bad as there bark
But if only they’d let sleeping dogs lie
Written about a couple once knew always at each other like cat and dog
Idea came from an old poem I wrote few years back called old habits die hard
