Sleeping Beauties

We were
born equally
talented and tormented

Able
to mirror people's
motives, thoughts,
ideas, hopes
nobody
ever dared
scouting
behind our surfaces

Embalmed
inside a glass casket, frozen
we looked
alive to most
and yet painfully
dormant

Many
tried to awaken our
hearts enticed
by the reflection of their
selves we so
aptly
provided without
realizing it would
not
have been life to us

Till one
fateful
day the resonance of our
coffins broke
the Spell and we
fell - alive
and living - for one
another
