Sleep With This Sky

SLEEP WITH THIS SKY I want to make love to you underneath Aurora's dance, beneath the vail of pink and green that flutters, not by chance. I want to trace your supple lips while clouds boil from afar, and while entwined by your sweet kiss and neath Capella's star. I want to hear thunder boom while you whisper in my ear, fall stone deaf, to lightening crash, and darling words of cheer. I want to swim twixt sky and earth and splash in our red clay, to taste that you will linger here and vow that you will stay. I want Aurora's curtain light to sway upon our thighs, and take two souls in one to sail, in wispy midnight flies. I want the comets' shower, in a brilliant cosmic storm, to ride us hard in splendid fall, and paint Monet in form. I want the smear of white starlight and earth against our skins, to trust our joyful loving in the shadow of the Twins. If we should wake, to our own quake, but languid in a dream, then our time here, might disappear, but hold us in its stream. - Edlynn Nau © November 3, 2015 Syllables Per Line: 4 0 14 14 14 14 0 14 14 14 14 0 14 14 14 14 0 14 14 14 14

Thank you so much CayCay! I haven't seen you for a bit but have been by to your little cup! I'm still not sure on this title. I've been ruminating on it's true name! Title isn't exactly right. I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Congratulations on your win! Yeah!

Edlynn, I loved getting your comments today. this shows poetry of a very creative mind. Why can't this also just be some super great love making? Instead of saying Sleep with this sky, you should call it something like "When Earth and Sky Make Love" CAll it exactly what you want it is! For me, "Sleep with" just means two are a couple Love this poem.

Thank you so much Andrea. I have revised this X2 while it's been posted. Ha! Love honing our poetry while we are still in the writing process. I stuck this one on early b/c I was in trouble and needed suggestions. I got several inboxes suggestions & some on FB which finished the poem. YES...the title bugs me too. Still waiting to hear it's real name. Present title is a working title. Thanks for valued feedback.

I will send you the translation in French to "Arcturus Treasure" which is Aliteration/Rhyme in English & then is Free Verse in French. It's rough to English but is how it would be thought out in French. I can send that to your Soup mail if you are interested.

Thank you SO MUCH Skat! I am revising this even as it is posted. Not at all happy with about five(5) lines. Have it almost reshuffled. I hope I can get you and Demetrios to run by my little "cup-o-soup" here & give feedback on the changes. Sometimes one can poke words with a stick & they just set there & play dead. Sometimes French is easier! Ha!

Love making of cosmic proportions expressed in a majestic way, dear Edlynn. In Greek mythology, Uranus (Sky) and Gaea( Earth) united together to produce the first human race, the twelve Titans, the Cyclops and the Giants. Here you have captured this cosmic union with a magnificent poem! A seven!

Thank you SO MUCH Demetrios! I had forgotten all about the story of Gaia and Uranus. I'm so delighted you brought this up from some unlit channel in my brain that hasn't studied Greek Mythodogy since 7th grade. The information must be subliminally still there if I'm writing it into poetry. How fun is that! Thank you for stopping by my little cup in the soup with such kind words of encouragement!
